SUMMARY:Dallas Volunteers @ Mater Dei
DESCRIPTION:Would you like to make a difference? Are you looking for service opportunities? \n\n\n\nJoin us for a half day to serve the poorest of the poor in the spirit of Mother Teresa. We will begin with check-in\, fellowship\, and prayer at 9 a.m. and then separate into smaller groups to go comfort the elderly at nursing homes or do garden work for them\, help the Missionaries of Charity sisters in assisting low income families\, make lunch and serve at homeless shelters\, organize items at food pantries\, and/or feed the homeless on the streets. We usually finish around 12:30 p.m.\, but there will be lunch (optional) afterwards. \n\n\n\nThis is a family friendly event. Everyone that is planning to attend must RSVP here\, so we can let the places of service know how many people to expect. Like Mother Teresa said\, “let us do something beautiful for God.” \n\n\n\nINSTRUCTIONS: \n\n\n\n1. LOCATION: Meet us in the parking lot. Please consider attending 8:30 a.m. Mass beforehand if you could. \n\n\n\n2. PROJECTS: The event begins at the location below but most of you will go to different service sites after the fellowship\, orientation\, and prayer\, so please don’t be late. \n\n\n\n3. NEW VOLUNTEERS: serving with us for the first-time\, please Register here before RSVPing to this event. Everyone must sign these waivers before volunteering. One Waiver per family is sufficient. \n\n\n\n4. GROUPS: Please send us a message for the approval before bringing 10+ volunteers from your (parish\, school\, work\, or ministry) group. \n\n\n\n5. MINORS: By serving with us\, everyone is agreeing to these terms and conditions (Liability Waiver). Everyone under 18 attending with a chaperone (without a parent) should print the Liability Waiver and have it signed by the parent BEFORE coming to the event\, and present it to the Leader as soon as you arrive. \n\n\n\n6. DRESS CODE: Not everyone will serve soup from a kitchen or dig dirt for a garden\, but please dress (casual) to be able to work wherever the need maybe. We mostly visit those who are in need. \n\n\n\n7. PLEASE DO NOT go directly to the service locations\, out of respect for our collaborators\, our legal guidelines\, and for your own safety.
