LINCOLN Street Friendsgiving
LINCOLN Street Friendsgiving
November 30 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm CST
Would you like to make a difference? Are you looking for service opportunities?
Join us for a half day to serve the poorest of the poor in the spirit of Mother Teresa. We will begin with check-in, fellowship, and the orientation, and then separate into smaller groups to go comfort the elderly at nursing homes, encounter the homeless on the streets, and/or organize items at food pantries.
We usually finish around Noon, and continue the fellowship by grabbing lunch together afterwards (optional).
This is a family friendly event, so children of all ages are welcome. We encourage everyone to RSVP here, so we can let the places of service know how many people to expect. Like Mother Teresa said, “let us do something beautiful for God.”
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. NEW VOLUNTEERS: If this is your first time with us, please sign the mandatory waiver here before RSVPing to this event.
2. LOCATION: You will be notified via email/text.
3. PROJECTS: This is where it begins but most of you will go to different service sites after the fellowship, orientation, and prayer, so don’t be late. Projects change every week based on the needs but you will be given the options to choose from.
4. GROUPS: Please send us a message before bringing 10+ volunteers from your group.
5. DRESS CODE: Not everyone will serve soup at a shelter or dig dirt for a garden, but please dress (casual) to be able to work wherever the need maybe.
6. MINORS: By serving with us, everyone is agreeing to these terms and conditions (Liability Waiver). Parents must print and sign the Liability Waiver for all minors attending with a chaperone (without a parent) and make sure it reaches the Leader as soon as they arrive.
7. PLEASE DO NOT go directly to the service locations, out of respect for our collaborators, our legal guidelines, and for your own safety.
8. FOLLOW US on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and GroupMe to be notified about the upcoming events.
